Cyclist injured in traffic accident in downtown Fresno
FRESNO, Calif. (June 1, 2022) – An unidentified person was injured in a bicycle collision on Blythe Avenue on Thursday.
The accident happened at 7:00 a.m. on May 26ealong Blythe Avenue in Central Fresno, according to initial reports.
In addition, according to the California Highway Patrol, the cyclist would have run a red light just before a vehicle hit him.
Additionally, authorities only described the cyclist as a man in his twenties. When paramedics arrived, they took the cyclist to a nearby hospital for treatment of several broken bones.
During this time, the driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Authorities did not consider drugs or alcohol a factor in the accident. However, an active investigation is currently underway.
