Technology turns out to be a life buoy at many times. This time, a man in the United States may receive timely medical attention as he fell from an electric bicycle after his Apple Watch made an emergency call to the police. After the man fell, the watch automatically dialed 911.
According to Appleinsider, the watch notified police in Hermosa Beach, California that the owner of the watch had fallen, and based on the location, the department ordered emergency services to the scene. The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. on January 22 at the 300 block of 29th Street.

The man was found lying unconscious and bleeding profusely from his head next to his e-bike, police said as quoted by Fox 11. He was treated at the scene by officers and taken to hospital. He was discharged from the hospital after several days.
Police said it appeared to be a solo e-bike accident. However, the law enforcement agency also noted that social media posts claimed it was either a crime or an attack.
This isn’t the first time Apple Watch has dialed emergency phone numbers to save lives. In September 2019, Gabe Burdett said in a viral Facebook post that he received a text from his father Bob’s Apple Watch about his sudden fall. “Emergency SOS Bob Burdett called emergency services from this approximate location after Apple Watch detected a hard drop,” the post read.
