Armed robbery reported at Merced 7-Eleven, police say

Police are investigating the theft of cash in a robbery at a 7-Eleven store in Merced – at least the third robbery there in recent weeks.

At 12:43 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the store at 2255 E. Gerard Ave., according to a news release from the Merced Police Department.

Police say the suspect, who was described as a grown man wearing a baggy navy jacket, white shirt and blue jeans, got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police say the suspect was seen leaving the scene on a dark-colored BMX-style bicycle with whitewall tires.
