BGT’s Simon Cowell Opens Up About ‘Always Healing’ E-Bike Injury

Simon Cowell has opened up about his horrific cycling accident after he was spotted wearing a wrist brace ahead of Britain’s Got Talent.

The music mogul hasn’t had much luck with two-wheeled vehicles lately, after falling and breaking his back in Malibu.

He later suffered surgical complications to fuse with the vertebrae – before getting back on the bike and falling back down.

This time Simon crashed his e-bike while in London and was “lucky to be alive” after sustaining an arm injury that left him in a shiny cast.

Now, ahead of BGT’s launch this weekend, Simon has swapped his cast for a wrist brace – and opened up about the horror incident.

He admitted to the Daily Star: “Well, I fell off my bike in London. It wasn’t my fault – it was raining and it was a sharp turn!”

Explaining that the brace was related to his previous injury rather than a new one, Simon added: “The long [cast] got detached. Now that my bone is healing, I still have to wear it for a few more weeks.

“It’s almost good,” he said.

His latest crash saw the “blood soaked” tycoon ride a Das Spitzing Evolution S-Pedelec bike at speeds of 20mph without wearing a helmet.

He suffered a suspected concussion, cuts to his face and a broken arm – but was seen happily waving to gathered fans with his arm in a bright yellow cast just days later.

A source revealed at the time: “Simon is lucky to be alive. He was pedaling, with his electric motor running, when the wheels suddenly gave way under him after hitting a wet area.

He agreed to start wearing a helmet

“Despite this being his second big escape, Simon insists he is not giving up the bike – but he will start wearing a helmet.”

His young son Eric is said to have chosen the color of his father’s plaster, then doodled their two dogs, Squiddly and Diddly, on the plaster.

Britain’s Got Talent kicks off for a stellar weekend this Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 7.35pm on ITV.
