Everything is set for next Sunday’s Going Electric event in Newport – a free showcase of electric transportation in all its forms.

The event will be held at Isle of Wight College and will feature not only electric vehicles (EVs), but also vans, bikes, drones, charging infrastructure and more, as well as presentations from leading experts on many aspects of the electric transportation revolution.

Going Electric is the first to bring together major electric transportation suppliers in one place, including the largest EV car show ever on the island, with all major dealerships including Harwoods, Leslies Motor Group, Premier Motors, Esplanade, Staddlestones, Snows and Central Garage, with the latest from Ford, MG, Kia, Suzuki, Toyota, Hyundai, Mercedes Benz, VW, Volvo, Citroën, BMW, Mini, Renault, Nissan, Peugeot and Moreover.

A dedicated e-Bike area will provide the perfect opportunity to see the latest in e-bikes and talk to experts from WightBike, Isle Access and People Powered, and you can try an e-bike on the dedicated test track. Another popular space will be “Meet the Owner” – a great place to meet EV owners and their cars and ask questions about their daily use of EVs and how they fit into their lives.

On display will be the latest electric vehicle charging points from Green Mile, Island Renewables and dcbel plus experts will be present from Vehicle Consulting and EV Express, as well as Future Isle of Wight, LoCASE and the Isle of Wight Council to discuss any aspect of VE ownership, infrastructure and island plans for a greener future.

Innovation in electric vehicles and design will be led by engineering specialists MedTec and design company NOSY where you can participate in their Net Zero Gameshow. PC Consultant, a leading IT and technology company, will present SpaceX’s “Starlink” and give you the opportunity to take control of a telepresence robot. While Drone Inspect Specialists will have the best in drone technology and provide drone views throughout the day.

If that’s not enough, you can take a seat in the seminar room to listen to lectures by leading experts. Lectures on electrical infrastructure, electric vehicle ownership and innovation in electric transportation.
