LEXINGTON, Kentucky (April 13, 2022) — University of Kentucky Bike Week is back, scheduled for Monday, April 18 through Friday, April 22. Cyclists can take part in five days of cycling-related activities on and off campus, with a chance to win prizes.
Students who attend at least three Bike Week events and get their Bike Week Passport stamped at each will be entered to win one of three raffles. This year, cyclists can enter for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate to spend at one of four participating local bike shops!
“Spring is the perfect season to explore our community on two wheels,” said Sandra Broadwill, UK Alternative Transport Manager. “Whether you’ve been cycling for years or are just getting into it, there’s an activity for everyone. We hope that this week’s focus on cycling will encourage people to take advantage of it on the recreational side, but also to consider the possibility of using the bike as a viable transportation option.
For those who wish to take part in Bike Week activities but do not have a bike of their own, bikes can be borrowed free of charge from the Wildcat Wheels Bike Libraryor e-bikes can be rented using the Birds app.
