Former Tour de France champion Geraint Thomas had his £12,000 racing bike stolen today when he walked into a cafe on the Riviera.

The 35-year-old was enjoying an off-season trip to the south of France but had to book an Uber taxi home.

The two-time Olympic gold medalist took to Twitter to post an angry photo of himself in the back of the car with the caption: “Nice ride. Lovely cafe in Menton.

“Except someone stole my bike.

“Now in an Uber house. It’s a Dogma F with F12 stickers. Matching wheels randomly missing and in need of a wash.

In another Tweet, Thomas said he hadn’t uploaded his “Garmin” yet, likely referring to workout data on a smartwatch or wearable fitness tracker made by the tech company.

The post was liked by over 1.5k people and a slew of comments gave Thomas advice on securing his bike and offered his condolences.
