Highland Park Police are investigating a number of burglaries and robberies – Chicago Tribune

The following was taken from reports, press releases and the Highland Park Police Department’s clerk’s files. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

FLIGHT

Connie Michelle Stewart, 42, of the 300 block of Temple Avenue in Highland Park, was charged with four counts of retail theft and one count of theft of appliances related to the theft on October 18. She was arrested when police responded to an ongoing robbery at a retail business in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road. She was rushed to Lake County Jail after a virtual bail hearing. She is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court Nov. 10 in Waukegan.

A woman walked into a retail business on the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road, hid $1,273 worth of perfume, and left the store without paying on October 10.

Three credit cards were stolen from a secure wallet in a locker at a business in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road on October 13. Two of the three cards were used unsuccessfully at various merchants.

Four women walked into a retail business in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road, grabbed three baskets, filled them with around $3,000 worth of perfume and left without paying on October 13.

A bicycle parked and locked in the 1700 block of St. Johns Avenue was reported stolen on October 13.

A man and woman entered a retail business in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road, concealed 10 boxes of men’s perfume worth $1,509 and left the store without paying on October 15.

DUI

Andre S. Ramdas, 33, of the 1200 block of Brian Lane in Effort, Pennsylvania, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with an invalid license and disobeying a speed control device. circulation on October 15. Police found Ramdas asleep in a vehicle near the intersection of Half Day and Skokie Valley roads. He was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court Nov. 11 in Waukegan.

APPREHENSION BY WARRANT

Rafael Vasquez, 42, of the 300 block of Temple Avenue in Highland Park, was apprehended for failure to appear outside of Lake County on October 17. Police found him when they responded to a report of an unwanted person in the residence. He was transported to Lake County Jail.

HEIST

A man broke into the lobby of a residence in the 800 block of Deerfield Road, accessed parking garages and entered five unlocked vehicles on October 11.

An unknown person entered a garage of a multi-unit apartment building in the 600 block of Mulberry Place, entered numerous unlocked vehicles and took minimal items on October 11. An e-bike worth $4,500 was also taken along with two helmets.

Someone broke two windows at the back of a residence in the 2100 block of Old Briar Lane and entered the residence on October 12. Several jewels and watches were stolen.

A stranger broke into a business in the 2500 block of Skokie Valley Road and took two empty cash drawers along with coupons for free merchandise on October 15.
