Murder hunt after deadly shooting in Liverpool – suspects use e-bikes to flee | UK News

Two people who used e-bikes to flee the scene of a fatal shooting in Liverpool are being chased by police.

Officers were called at 11.40pm on Tuesday to Lavrock Bank in Toxteth where they found a seriously injured man believed to be in his early 20s with a gunshot wound to his upper body.

CPR was performed at the scene until an ambulance arrived and took him to hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

Police believe there were two attackers, both dressed in dark clothing, who were seen driving away from the scene on e-bikes.

An investigation is ongoing and crime scene investigators are conducting forensic examinations, the force said in a statement.

Officers are also conducting door-to-door investigations and will review security footage to identify offenders and establish circumstances.

Chief Inspector Colonel Rooney said: “The investigation is in its infancy and officers are working hard to establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting and identify those responsible.

“I understand this will be shocking to the local community, but I would like to reassure them that we have increased patrols in the area and are carrying out a number of searches.

“If anyone has any information that could help us in our investigation, or has seen or heard anything suspicious before or after the incident, I encourage them to come forward and tell us what they know.

“I would also ask if anyone has any CCTV or doorbell footage that could help us get in touch urgently.”
