Oldham County Old Kentucky Home Bike Tour

OKHT is not a race, but rather a community race to encourage people to love cycling and to see parts of their hometown that they may not have seen this way before.

OLDHAM COUNTY, Ky. – Usually held in Bardstown, KY on the 42nd Old Kentucky Bike Tour (OKHT) is coming to County Oldham on Sunday 5th June 2022.

Since its founding in 1897, the Louisville Bike Club was one of the most active and progressive clubs in the Midwest.

Now they team up with Oldham County Tourism and Convention co-facilitate the OKHT.

OKHT is not a race, but rather a community ride to encourage people to love cycling, to see parts of their hometown they may not have seen this way before, and to generally promote cycling. community spirit and a healthy lifestyle.

The walk begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Yew Dell Botanical Garden in Crestwood and ends around 4 p.m.

Riders can follow one of three routes included in the ride with options of 62.1 miles, 40 miles and 20 miles.

Rest stops include Acorn Lane Farm in Boone Gardiner, Circle Bar C Ranch and TRF Sanctuary Farm in Chestnut Hall.

A pancake breakfast will start the day for runners at 6:45 a.m. Food trucks will be available, as well as a World Famous Cookie Stop and live music. Animations for cyclists will also take place on Saturday June 4, the day before the hike.

Kim Hydes, executive director of Oldham Count Tourism and Conventions, hosted a tour and lunch of bourbon, horses and trains in Oldham County the day before the official ride.

Event includes shuttle tour, horse farm tour, bourbon tour and tasting, time on the main street of La Grange, lunch and bike pack pickup at Hive & Barrel Meadery from 15 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Registration cost is $45 for adults and is open from May 1 to June 2 and includes a t-shirt. The cost for ages 12 and under is $25.
