Police appeal after e-bike ‘rolls at high speed towards young children’ in Dosthill Road, Tamworth

Police are appealing for information and dash cam footage after a teenager on an e-bike ‘drove at high speed towards young children’. Officers say the incident on Dosthill Road caused other vehicles to swerve and even onto the curb.

He was initially spotted at Dosthill Park in Tamworth shortly before 5pm this afternoon, Thursday June 9.

Tamworth Police posted: ‘At approximately 4.40pm this afternoon a young man escaped from officers on a black electric motorbike.

‘First sighted on Dosthill Park, the offender fled on seeing police and continued to drive at high speed along the footpath towards pedestrians – including young children – before driving down Dosthill Road, causing a swerve and a curb climb.

“The biker continued to drive dangerously along Dosthill Road before crossing a driveway into the Cottage Farm Road estate and escaping.

“The assailant is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 16 years old, of slim build, with dark curly hair and wearing black clothing.
