Police arrest shoplifting suspect charged with bike jaunt: Lakewood Police Blotter

LAKEWOOD, Ohio –

Flight: Detroit Avenue

On June 27 at 11:28 a.m., officers responded to the Family Dollar store in Detroit regarding a man carrying a bag who set off an alarm as he left the store. He rode east on Detroit on a blue and gray Huffy bike. Officers located a male matching the suspect’s description on W. 117th Street. An officer charged the man with shoplifting and confiscated his bike, according to a police occurrence report.

Grand Theft of a Vehicle: Bunts Road

A resident of Bunts Road called the police department at 2.06pm on June 27 to report that a vehicle was missing.

Disorderly Driving: Detroit Avenue

At 1:30 a.m. on June 26, a man tripped and fell on the sidewalk on Detroit Avenue near Riverside Drive. Officers responded to a call for emergency medical services. Officers cited the man for disorderly conduct while intoxicated and released him to a sober adult, according to a police occurrence report.

OVI: Clifton Boulevard

The police department at 2:21 a.m. on June 26 responded to a call about a man outside Lakewood Fire Station 3 who was possibly intoxicated. An officer arrested an adult male for having an open container and driving a vehicle while intoxicated.

A resident called the police department at 7:33 a.m. on June 25 to report finding graffiti on his home.

Officers responded to Madison Park at 5:41 p.m. on June 25 to a van with a shattered passenger-side front window and a stolen purse.
