All-new gravel race offers 76 miles of serious, fun-focused off-road racing
(May 25, 2022 – Salida, CO) – The Evergreen team is back – adding stellar events to their already strong lineup. The producers of Triple Bypass are now adding the all-new Salida76 gravel race and race to the roster. Scheduled for September 17, 2022, this event features a ‘timed’ race category and an untimed ‘party pace’ category – where you’ll still need to hit the thresholds (brownie points if you’re actually wearing cut jeans), but you can ride at your own pace.
At 76 miles, this ride hits the sweet spot for maximizing late-season fitness while promising meaty climbs and thrilling descents. Registration for the race is open now.
“As we researched and imagined this race, we wanted to bring back the fun and laid back roots of gravel riding and racing,” said Team Evergreen General Manager Jen Barbour.
“This race is made for both competitive runners and those who want to explore at a gentle pace. Keeping it fun and accessible is part of the plan.
Like all Team Evergreen events, Salida76 will raise funds for local nonprofits. In this case, proceeds will go to Chaffee County organizations such as Salida Mountain Trails, among others.
“We are thrilled to be working with Team Evergreen on the Salida76 and Salida Bike Fest lineup,” said Jon Terbush, executive director of Salida Mountain Trails.
“Their ability to host unique bike events throughout Colorado is unparalleled. We look forward to welcoming more cyclists to Salida to enjoy one of the best gravel and mountain bike rides in the area.
Salida76 is part of the Salida Bike Fest, which includes the Banana Belt Mountain Bike Race and the Crest Crank, for an entire weekend of dirt adventure.
Although the Salida76 aims to keep it cool, this is a remote route with big elevation gains that require assistance. The refreshments and the friendliness of the runners will be welcome for cyclists of all levels.
