West Seattle Blog… | WEST SEATTLE CRIME WATCH: Commercial Burglaries; vandalized cars; abandoned bicycle, probably stolen

Four Five reader reports in West Seattle Crime Watch today:

TRUE VALUE RUN-IN: After tipping, we called to ask about it, and the store staff told us it happened at the 44th/Edmunds store between 3 and 4 am today. Three burglars who appeared to be in their late teens or early twenties burst through the front door and made out with a large amount of Sawzall blades and a small safe. Security video shows their faces were obscured because they were wearing hoodies. They left in a newer Jeep Gladiator pickup with Bill Pierre tags. The police responded but lost them after a short chase. If you have any advice, the SPD incident # is 22-226293.

ITTO BREAK-IN: Another early morning burglary at a Junction business, this time around 5 a.m. Thursday in Itto’s tapas.

The Burglar is shown from 3:05 a.m. to 4:16 a.m. and again from 6:05 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. We don’t have the report number for that yet.

(added 10:30 p.m.) ADVANCE AUTO PARTS BREAK-IN: Another corporate heist to add:

I work at Advance Auto Parts and our window was smashed (see photo) just before 7am this morning. I don’t know if it was related to TrueValue. The only thing holding the window together in the photo is the window banner. Then around 3:30 p.m., 2 men entered our store and stole a part that was to be delivered to another store.

VANDALIZED CARS: We’ve received several reader reports of three cars with broken windows on Beach Drive near Constellation Park. One of the people who contacted us, Michelle, said: ‘A neighbor came out of their balcony and told us it happened around 4am this morning and they filed a police report.’ The brick was left under the front of this car:

The incident number is 22-226269.

There is an abandoned bicycle at the top of the steps where SW 8th Ave and SW Kenyon intersect. It’s a nice bike and I guess the owner would like to see it returned.
