Commenting on the opening of the new store, Sir Chris Hoy said: “The past few years have been extremely difficult for so many people across the country, but one of the silver linings has been the rise of families who have turned to two wheels.
“As a key retailer of HOY bikes, I understand the knowledge and expertise imparted by physical bike stores like Evans Cycles. Access to stores like this plays an important role in developing the next generation cyclists, and I can’t wait to meet some of them on Saturday!”
Matthew Atkinson, Head of Cycling Strategy at Evans Cycles, added: “We are delighted to announce the opening of the UK’s largest cycle store at our new store in Cheetham Hill. Manchester is a very important location for us and this will be our third store in town.
“With over 400 bikes on display, the new store is equipped with a TRI UK space showcasing time trial bikes as well as swimming and racing areas, a dedicated e-bike space, a fitting studio from BikeFitting.com, as well as a dedicated co-worker training center where all full-time co-workers will be trained to Shimano service center standards.”
